Old Goat Men claim 2nd at Rachel's Run which means a 2nd place USATF New England XC Grand Prix finish

As another cross country season winds down, the Old Goat men and women's teams went up north to Tyngsboro, MA to race at Rachel's Run. The ladies race kicked things off, which featured the club premier of Gwenyth Winship. Emily Newman led the goats with a 20th place in finish in 23:14, followed closely by a 21st place finish in 23:18 by Julie Tevenan. Liz Turchiarelli finished 25th in 23:28, Gwenyth finished 32nd in 24:37 and Theresa Inzerillo finished 56th in 30:30. The team finished 5th on this fairly tough course. Next the men took to the course, led by a 2nd place finish by Austin Scott in 16:51. Kyle Gerlach was 14th in 18:14, Matt Robasco was 16th in 18:28, Dave Goodrich was 23rd in 18:45, Dan Mortimer was 32nd in 19:05 and Mike Brady was 34th in 19:25. The team combined for a 2nd place finish, just 5 points ahead of 3rd place HFC for the race! The club really appreciates all the hard work everyone put in this season and were happy with the tentative 2nd place grand prix finish by the men and the great participation by the women! For anyone at home wondering, "So is that it for XC season?" the answer is: Not yet! A few brave goats are planning to venture down to Bethlehem, PA on the weekend of Dec. 14 to make the club's first appearance at USATF Club XC nationals, so stay tuned as the adventure continues!
