Image
Saturday, Dec. 14 2019 a squad of Austin, Matt Rabasco, Dan Mortimer, Kyle Gerlach, Dave for the men and Emily (and superfan Gwenyth) for the ladies journeyed to Lehigh University in Bethlehem, PA to make the club's first appearance on the national stage. The conditions were tough, with constant rain that made the course a mud bath although temps were in the mid 40s. This event had the highest total participation for any championship event USATF has ever put on! Emily took the course first in the women's open race in a field of 407, with a 356th place finish in 26:28 on the 6k course. The men's field of  628 ran next on the 10k course and the goats were led by Austin's 188th place finish in 34:02. Matt Rabasco was 470th in 37:38, Dan Mortimer was 483rd in 37:51, Kyle Gerlach was 506th in 38:20 and Dave Goodrich was 522nd in 38:52. Old Goats repeat as champs in 5th annual Ben & Jerry's 4xMile, finish 4th overall and 3rd in age group at Mill City Relays

It was a busy weekend for a few goats who spent the weekend carrying on a couple traditions. On Saturday night, Austin, Dave, Matt Robasco, Justin, Kyle Morrison, Kyle Gerlach and Dan Mortimer flocked to the icy and snow covered WPI track in 18 degree weather to meet up with some undergrads to eat some ice cream and run some miles. For those who have never watched it is truly a sight to behold. The rules of the competition are fairly simple, relay teams consist of four runners, each of whom eats a pint of Ben and Jerry's ice cream and proceeds to run a mile as quickly as possible. The team of Kyle Gerlach, Dan Mortimer, Dave and Austin claimed the gold (for the second year in a row) in a time of 28:31, and the team of Kyle Morrison, Justin and a couple Wellesley ladies had a great showing as well running 37:36. There were six teams total and everyone killed it in this fun event! We appreciate all the support from the runners and spectators alike, and look forward to getting eve
